No matter what changes around us in the future, I want you to know that my love for you never wavered, and I have always been, and always will be, you dad...

To my children... I want you to know this before anything else:

My love for you was never fragile, and it was never conditional.

There are parts of my life I didn’t handle perfectly.

There are choices I wish I could change.

But none of that was because you weren’t enough... it was because I was still learning how to be whole.

If things feel different in the future, please remember this:

I was always there for you.

Every. Single. Day.

Every. Single. Night.

And I loved and love you more than you'll ever know.

I didn’t stop being your dad... not for a single day.

If one day in the future you feel confused, or hurt, or angry, you’re allowed to be.

I can carry that, as hard as it will be.

All I hope, in time, is that you see this part clearly:
